About Me

I grew up in a small town (Only 2,000 people) and had big dreams for my future. My dad owned the local movie theater and I took my love of RomCom's and turned it into an passionate career. Wedding planner Amy was born!

I have a unique background of being formal hair stylist,  Club DJ in my early 20s, Retail management, then moved into a career with interior design until I took the big leap of faith and created Breathe and Relax events in 2017. 

When I'm not planning weddings, I love to watch movies or the latest Netflix reality show on the couch with my husband and 3 kiddos. 

Traveling is on my bucket list for the next 5 years including Italy, France and any place with a swim up bar. Give me all the pretty drinks with umbrella's.

A Leo through and through, I am an extrovert who is bossy and assertive but will be the life of the party when you are needing a distraction of FUN energy! Don't get me wrong, the day is all about YOU as a couple, and I'm in the background being your biggest cheerleader!!! 

Things you may not know about me:

• I have the heart of a singer, but not the voice. (My music selection at Karaoke would surprise you! )
• I have a chip addiction and my guilty pleasures are Salt and vinegar, Funyuns or Pickle flavored.  
• I prefer my homemade Bloody Caesars over anyone else's. ( I would give you my recipe but then I would have to kill you!)
• I come from a family with huge age gaps and I'm actually 11 years younger than my oldest sister and 11 years older than my youngest sister. That is 22 years between 3 siblings!! 
• I still run up the stairs from any basement b/c I'm scared something or someone is going to get me. *This is what happens when you see scary movies at a young age... irrational fear of monsters! 

Let's get real!!!

Between my love of RomComs and my professional background I was searching for what would "fill my cup." 

Then the day came when mom lost her battle to cancer and she gained her angel wings. I was 29 years old at the time and had just found the love of my life, Matt. 

Fast forward 3 years later, my dad got his angel wings... 5 months before our wedding day. So on my wedding day, I had neither parent to be by my side or walk me down the aisle. 

Going through the biggest day of my life without either parent, made me want to "do the work" for the couples and their families so they can truly enjoy their day.  

If you truly love what you do for work, is it really work? That is how I feel about being a planner and the owner of this company. I am the luckiest human on earth to be next to so many amazing clients on their most special day!
