Wedding Planner: About Me

I grew up in a small town of just 2,000 people, but I always had big dreams. My dad owned the local movie theater, which sparked my lifelong love of romantic comedies and happily-ever-afters. Eventually, that love story obsession turned into a career—and Wedding Planner Amy was born!

My professional journey has been anything but ordinary. Before launching Breathe and Relax Events, I worked as a hairstylist, a club DJ, a retail manager, and an interior designer. Each experience taught me something valuable about creativity, organization, customer service, design, and how to keep a party moving.

In 2017, I took a leap of faith and created Breathe and Relax Events. Since then, I have had the honor of helping hundreds of couples bring their wedding visions to life. I love creating beautiful celebrations, organizing the smallest details, and making sure my couples can relax and remain fully present on one of the biggest days of their lives.

When I am not planning weddings, you can usually find me relaxing with my husband and our three kids, watching a movie or catching up on the latest Netflix reality show.

Travel is high on my bucket list for the next several years. Italy and France are at the top, but honestly, I am happy anywhere with warm weather, a swim-up bar, and a pretty drink with a tiny umbrella.

As a true Leo, I am outgoing, confident, direct, and always ready to bring some fun energy into the room. I know when to take charge, when to solve a problem quietly behind the scenes, and when to hype up the dance floor. Your wedding day will always be about you—I will simply be in the background making sure everything runs smoothly and cheering you on every step of the way.

• I have the heart of a singer, but unfortunately not the voice. My karaoke song choices may surprise you!
• I have a serious chip addiction. Salt and vinegar, Funyuns, and anything pickle-flavored are my weaknesses.
• I firmly believe my homemade Bloody Caesars are better than anyone else’s. The recipe, however, remains highly classified.
• I am 11 years younger than my oldest sister and 11 years older than my youngest sister—a 22-year age span between the three of us!
• I still run up the stairs after leaving a basement because I am convinced something may be following me. Growing up around scary movies clearly left a lasting impression.

Between my love of romantic comedies and my professional background in design, entertainment, and customer service, I knew I wanted a career that would truly fill my cup—but I had not yet discovered what that looked like.

Then life changed.

When I was 29 years old, my mom lost her battle with cancer and gained her angel wings. At the time, I had just found the love of my life, Matt, and was beginning to imagine the future we would build together.

Three years later, my dad unexpectedly gained his angel wings—just five months before our wedding.

When our wedding day arrived, neither of my parents was there to walk me down the aisle, share a dance, or experience those once-in-a-lifetime moments with me.

Planning and celebrating one of the happiest days of my life while carrying so much grief changed the way I viewed weddings. It showed me how deeply meaningful these moments are and how important it is to be fully present for them.

That experience inspired me to create a business centered around helping couples breathe, relax, and truly enjoy their wedding day. I wanted to become the person who could carry the logistics, manage the stress, and quietly handle the unexpected so couples and their families could focus on the moments they may never get back.

That is the heart behind Breathe and Relax Events.

For me, wedding planning is about so much more than timelines, centerpieces, and pretty details. It is about family, connection, memories, and creating a day where you can be surrounded by the people you love most.

It is an honor I never take lightly.
